How to configure GridGammon

GridGammon is the web site at which U.S. Backgammon Federation (USBGF) online matches are played.

  1. If you're a USBGF member, fill out the form at: http://usbgf.org/trny/gg-acct/ to request a GridGammon account.  It's free, but it might take as long as a week to get processed.

  2. To permit Gridgammon to copy match files to your computer, you must let it run as an administrator on your computer.  To do this, right click on the Gridgammon Icon on your desktop.  Then, click on Properties.  Then, click on the Compatibility folder, and check "Run this program as an administrator".

  3. Log on to Gridgammon.

  4. Click on "Options" -> AutoSave Settings.

  5. Check "Save games automatically when I'm playing".

  6. Under Format, check "txt".

  7. Under Save Folder, specify the folder you want the files copied to.

  8. After you finish a Gridgammon match, the txt file for that match will automatically get copied to the folder you specified in step 7.

  9. To import the txt file into eXtremeGammon, click on "Import a Game", then find the previously mentioned folder, click on the txt file, and then run analysis.
