Greenbridge 

  

This was a slide from an October 28, 2013 pitch by Economic Development Officer Dwight Bassett to the Chapel Hill  Town Council.  It touts the tax benefits of a dense development like Greenbridge. 

 

Unfortunately, Greenbridge has gone bankrupt, and the new owners are petitioning for tax relief.

 

According to the same pitch, the tax yield/acre for various developments:

 

  • Greenbridge:  $ 52M/acre

  • 140 West:  $ 30M/acre

  • East 54:  $ 9M/acre

  • Meadowmont:  $ 2M/acre

 

Sidebar:  In January 2014 the Town sold 8.5 acres of land adjacent to the cemetery for $ 100 to DHIC to build affordable housing.
