Ken Larsen's Backgammon - SENTRY tactic

Leave a lone rear checker in your opponent's outfield to harass the opponent if he leaps to the outfield.

  1. You are behind in the race
  2. Opponent has some weakness in his home board.  It's crunched or starting to crunch.
  3. Opponent usually has an anchor in your home board and must soon break it because of his crunched home board.

In the position shown 14/8 would be a 0.091 blunder.
