Ken Larsen's Backgammon - SAFE tactic

Minimize blots and/or opponent’s chances to hit you.  Playing safe is usually done when you're under attack, you have the weaker home board, or you're ahead in the race.  Play safe when your opponent has a four point home board.

Don't introduce any new blots if you can't anchor!

Prerequisites:

  1. You're ahead in the race (and therefore don't have to hit a blot to win).

In the position shown hitting would be a 0.175 blunder.
