Ken Larsen's Backgammon - RECYCLE tactic

Try to recirculate a checker to pick up another blot.  This means forcing your opponent to hit you so that you can return to the bar and reenter his home board where blots exist.  Usually this is done if the opponent has several checkers already off, or if you're trying to win a gammon, or if your opponent is trying to play a backgame.  Recycling a checker can help crash his home board and destroy his timing.

In the position shown red should play 6/3 with his 3.  If hit, red stands to pick up gold's other blot.  5/2 is slightly weaker, but is the same idea.  21/18*/15 would be a blunder at -0.183.
